5-tap: It just takes a few seconds to turn off, otherwise I’ll be cleaning up for hours.

2-baby: It might be dying so its probably good to check on it early. Though if it was REALLY in danger (suffocating, choking, on fire) it wouldn’t be crying. So crying most likely means its not imminent danger.

1-phone: If its a telemarketer I can hang up, no real time lost. If its someone I know I can tell them I’ll call back, still not much time lost. I dont get calls for work so I dont really think about those.

3-door: When people are knocking they usually wait at least a minute or two before leaving, giving me enough time to take care of the first few things. Now I can answer the door.

4-clothes: I dont care if i have to leave my clothes out for a few more hours.

I’m surprised that all of the answers weren’t about sexual repression. =)

5 tap – love
1 telephone – work
2 baby – family
3 door – friends
4 clothes – money

but here’s my reasoning:

the thought of something left on or running drives me nuts. have to turn off faucet before anything else. after i take care of that, i can go pick up the phone because i can talk on the phone while i run to the baby. then after i pick up the baby, i can run to the door w/ phone and baby. and clothes… well, it’s just clothes. it can dry again.

even though i think running to the baby would be top on my priority list, (you never know, it could be choking) it’s hard to override my obsessive compulsion w/ turning things off. then sense just sorta kicks in coz i figure it’s more efficient to pick up the phone first. if i run to the baby first, the person might hang up. but picking up the phone would only take a second, and i can talk and walk at the same time. and i save door for after picking up phone and baby because they’re mobile.. unlike the door. unless i know who it is and i can just yell “it’s not locked!”

you can never take freud too seriously. haha.
