I first read this article: Pakistan orders Bush poem deleted from school book<\/a>. I tried to google for the poem and found this article: Veiled ode to George Bush deleted from Pakistani textbooks <\/a>. Pakistan has ordered that a poem in which the first letters of each line spell out the name “President George W. Bush” be deleted from a school textbook<\/strong>. The Education Ministry said the poem “The Leader” was unacceptable as it had been downloaded from the Internet and was anonymous.<\/em><\/p>\n

Part of the poem was displayed in the 2nd article, but that didn’t sound too bad, so I googled some more and found the real poem:<\/p>\n

THE LEADER<\/em> by anonymous<\/p>\n

P<\/strong>atient and steady with all he must bear,
\nR<\/strong>eady to meet every challenge with care,
\nE<\/strong>asy in manner, yet solid as steel,
\nS<\/strong>trong in his faith, refreshingly real.
\nI<\/strong>sn’t afraid to propose what is bold,
\nD<\/strong>oesn’t conform to the usual mould,
\nE<\/strong>yes that have foresight, for hindsight won’t do,
\nN<\/strong>ever backs down when he sees what is true,
\nT<\/strong>ells it all straight, and means it all too.
\nG<\/strong>oing forward and knowing he’s right,
\nE<\/strong>ven when doubted for why he would fight,
\nO<\/strong>ver and over he makes his case clear,
\nR<\/strong>eaching to touch the ones who won’t hear.
\nG<\/strong>rowing in strength he won’t be unnerved,
\nE<\/strong>ver assuring he’ll stand by his word.
\nW<\/strong>anting the world to join his firm stand,
\nB<\/strong>racing for war, but praying for peace,
\nU<\/strong>sing his power so evil will cease,
\nS<\/strong>o much a leader and worthy of trust,
\nH<\/strong>ere stands a man who will do what he must.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nB<\/strong>ringing world war and creating deceit,
\nU<\/strong>sing his powers so evil can’t cease.
\nS<\/strong>o such a leader is unworthy of trust,
\nH<\/strong>ere stands a man whose legacy is disgust.<\/p>\n
